A single 6lb bag of PrettyLitter is intended to last up to one month for one (1) medium sized cat. PrettyLitter requires a minimum litter depth of 2" for optimal performance and recommends an average sized litter box of at least 12" x 16". For larger sized litter boxes, consider using an extra bag in order to achieve the proper depth.
For older or larger cats, a litter depth of at least 3” for optimum absorption is recommended.
For multi-cat households, one bag of litter should be used per cat. Two bags of litter per litter box is highly recommended if:
- Two cats are sharing a single litter box
- One litter box is frequently share more than another
