The recommendations below apply to our Original PrettyLitter Non-Clumping 6 lb. bag.
The number of bags you'll need depends on the number of cats in your household, the size of your litter box, and your cat's size.
One Cat
A single 6 lb. bag is designed to last up to one month for one medium-sized cat when used in an average-sized litter box (approximately 12" × 16").
For the best performance and health-monitoring results:
- Maintain a minimum litter depth of 2 inches.
- For larger sized litter boxes, consider using an extra bag in order to achieve the proper depth.
- For larger or older cats, we recommend maintaining a litter depth of at least 3 inches for optimal moisture absorption.
Multi-Cat Households
If you have more than one cat, you'll likely need additional litter.
As a general guideline:
- Use one 6 lb. bag per cat.
- We recommend using two bags if:
- Two cats share the same litter box.
- One litter box is used significantly more often than the others.
Since every household is different, your litter usage may vary based on your cats' size, bathroom habits, the number of litter boxes, and how frequently each box is used.
