Whether you are using our Classic Non-Clumping formula or our new Clumping variant, used litter and cat waste must always be disposed of in the trash and never flushed down the toilet.
Why can't I flush it?
There are two major reasons why flushing cat litter or waste is unsafe for your home and the environment:
Plumbing & Sewage Damage: Even flushable-marketed litters can easily clog pipes, harden in drains, and overwhelm septic tanks or city waste filtration systems.
Environmental & Health Risks: Cat waste can harbor a hardy parasite called Toxoplasma gondii. Most water treatment plants are not designed to filter out this parasite, meaning it can enter our local waterways and harm marine life (like sea otters) or contaminate edible crops down the line.
The Best Way to Dispose of PrettyLitter
Simply dump your kitty's waste into a trash bag, seal it up, and throw it in your regular household trash. When it's time for your monthly litter change, empty the entire contents of the litter box straight into a trash bag.
