Is PrettyLitter diagnostic?

Prettylitter is not a medical diagnostic tool. It should not be used as a means to conclusively detect underlying disease or treat pre-existing conditions.

Only a licensed Veterinarian can diagnose a medical issue.

Health Monitoring vs Diagnostics

Health monitoring and diagnostics are very different. Health monitoring tracks ongoing status or signals used to detect changes, irregularities, or warning signs in your cat's wellness. A veterinary diagnosis, on the other hand, will identify the specific cause of a health issue in your cat once symptoms appear.

Think of your kitty (for a second) like a prized, luxury car (i.e., The Catmobile... vroom, vroom!):

  • PrettyLitter serves as the dashboard gauges and warning lights. It shows you the speed, fuel and oil levels, and temperature while it drives so you can spot changes before any car trouble.
  • Your veterinarian is your trusted mechanic: hooking your car up to a scanner for a service checkup, or once a warning light turns on to find exactly which part of the The Catmobile is faulty.

Health Monitoring: Why It Matters

PrettyLitter is a tool that provides insights into your cat’s health by monitoring certain urinary elements such as levels of acidity and alkalinity. Cats are notorious for hiding health issues, and PrettyLitter helps bridge the conversation between cat, consumer, and veterinarian if or when urinary abnormalities may arise.

Part of PrettyLitter's mission and design is to help champion the importance of regular wellness visits with a trusted cat doctor.

If you do notice a color change while using PrettyLitter, continue to monitor your cat's litter for the next 24 to 48 hours. If a color change persists, we recommend taking your cat to your local Veterinarian for a wellness check.

If you are concerned your cat is displaying other non-urinary signs or symptoms outside their normal habits or behavior, please consult your vet.
